PhotoHunt:: Thankful

I am thankful for my sister and my three kiddos. This was taken a year ago at my mom's house when we still lived in Kansas. The kids love their Aunt Christine and I was so thankful for her willingness to play and care and cuddle Henry, Marcail and Naomi.

brusha, brusha, brusha

I just love how cute and "big girl" Naomi looks standing on her stool, brushing her teeth.
Her sweet, little, pudgy feet.

enjoying snack-always a happy occasion

enjoying snack-always a happy occasion part. 2

On the days that are not too windy we come out into our hallway and eat snack after naps. I have placed a chair next to our door and the kids put their snack bowls on the chair for safe-keeping as they walk or run up and down the hallway. They enjoy playing in the hallway chasing each other or running away from the dragon that's at the end of the hallway.
This is the view from our front door:

When I look over the railing from our door I can see the office of our building, this is where the kids play in the afternoon's with their friend Rahul. He is the owner's grandson and he lives in our building with his parents.

PhotoHunt:: Warm

I was running errands all moring so I didn't get this posted till after my kids went to bed!

It is certainly warm here in South Florida. We reached 85 degrees this past week and I couldn't help capturing the clear blue skies and beautiful trees we have here on our beach just a block away from our apartment.

Happy Hunting!

grief and healing

I ran across this blog from a blog of a friend of mine from camp and his wife. The couple from the blog has just recently lost their full-term baby and their story just breaks my heart. As I read the last 5 or 6 posts on their blog I just wept; I cannot begin to imagine the pain and disappointment this couple is going through right now. Please pray for them as they go through their grieving process and seek to heal through God's unending strength and love.

no more crib

Big girl Naomi has graduated from her crib to a crib-turned-daybed.
We have to put a pillow on the floor and one propped up in between the little railings on the sides of her mattress to keep her from rolling out. The first few nights she slept in her new bed she had some falling out mishaps that scared her and her mama and daddy. Nevertheless, Naomi does well in her bed.

the cheapest toy

A Diego jump rope from the Dollar Tree has proven to provide hours, and I mean hours, of fun and imagination for our little adventurer.

Blue Blanket

Sweet, sensitive Henry loves his blanket. When he's tired, sad, hungry or in trouble he runs to find his blue blanket. Sometimes he drapes it around his neck but usually he just holds it close to him like this: Maybe a 3-year-old is too old to have a security blanket, but his mama is not ready to make him part with his beloved blanket. He still has some "baby" left and I am savoring it as I have been encouraged to do because all too soon he will be grade school age and "too old" for mama and blankets!

I 'Heart' Dollar Tree

Check out these cute wall decals I got at the Dollar Tree for, you guessed it, $1.00! It was such a perfect find for the kid's walls, it really spiced things up.

Mr. and Mrs. James

I thought these were kind of silly. This is what you do when you don't have anyone to photograph you and your husband.

Here are the Pictures From Nay Nay's Birthday

Okay, so I uploaded all these photos and they didn't post in the order I wanted them to be in so bear with me as I explain our birthday celebration. Everything is out of order from the order of events as they took place. Sorry. :(

For Naomi's birthday the five of us visited Chic-fil-A for supper.

We like Chic-fil-A's play place because it's quieter than most McDonald's and seemingly cleaner.

After dining and playing at Chic-fil-A we came home to open presents.

Naomi found opening presents with her teeth proved more efficient than fingers.

Here's James at Chic-fil-A...

....and me!

Henry and Marcail patiently watched their baby sister open her presents.

I made chocolate chip cookie bars instead of a cake for Nay Nay's birthday, much less mess and so much easier to eat for the kids!

Here are Naomi's goods: a swimsuit and two DVDs.
