my friend nicole

On Sunday, our family traveled down to Sunny Isles, FL (a suburb of Miami), about a 17 min. drive from our house, to see my old friend from high school. Nicole is a nanny for a family that lives in Boston. Every year they travel to Miami and so we had the privelege of seeing her! I hadn't seen Nic in 5 years and we have the kind of friendship that even if we haven't seen each other or talked for a long time we can just pick up where we left off. We would alway get so silly and hyper when we hung out together in high school and this time was no exception except for a little more maturity! : )
Nicole had never met James or seen our kids before so it was great to be able to introduce her to my family. The kids took to her really well, she's so good with children. She has so much fun with them and plays with them too, which the kids love! Nicole and me!!!
We started out meeting at McDonald's for supper then we went to a park nearby. I took some pictures at the park but it was getting dark so the pictures didn't turn out well. After the park we walked over to Starbucks to enjoy a smoothee and Nic got some yogurt. The kids thought that she got it for them to share and sweet Nicci kindly shared with my begging kiddos!

Nicole and Marcail being silly!

Naomi and Marcail "sharing" Nicole's yogurt.

Here we all are around the table outside Starbucks.

Henry, me, Nicole and Marcail. As the sun went down it got chilly and was a bit breezy being so close to the ocean so we wrapped the kids up in their blankeys. This was James' wise idea.
I cannot tell you how good it was to see Nicole. I didn't realize how much I'd missed her!

Nicole wrote me on facebook and let me know she was in the area. I knew she was going to be but just not sure exactly when. So when I found out we made arrangements to meet up!

I'm tearing up (verklemptly) as I look at you and Nic. I just love that girl and my own sweet girl. What fun and silly times you've had together. I can hear her sweet voice and laughter! So GLAD you were able to meet...and get pictures!

Isn't there something so absolutely wonderful about laughing with a girlfriend? Ask your mom sometime about the old soda fountain in Marquette.
