The pictures are of the second batch. The first batch I made didn't even rise; it just sat there doing nothing. Talk about disappointing! I saved the flop dough because I just couldn't bear to pitch it. My mom suggested making "dough-dads". I think I will make some on Saturday. Any other suggestions as to what to do with the flop dough? I have a lot of it and it would make a lot of "dough-dads".
I will try my hand at making bread again next week and experiment with a couple other recipes.
Does making bread take a little practice? Or am I just bread-making challenged?

I hope the dough-dads turn out!
Would the dough also work for pretzels? Or you could try pinching off small pieces, flattening them w/ a cup bottom or rolling pin, salting them (or sugar and cinnamon) and bake them to make a cracker snacker type thing? And you can always freeze the dough and pull it out as needed to make more of the above ideas!
If you make "snacker crackers", I suggest flattening the dough pieces directly on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
One more thing... All your baking is making me hungry!!
Well this is really funny because I've been making white and whole wheat rolls for two weeks now. All I can say is practice, practice, practice!!!! I will e-mail youa lot of helpful hints in an e-mail. There is some little things I've learned in my over 50 years of baking. I love baking and I'm not an expert, but you sure learn a lot over the years. I'm proud of you Tab. It's really good therapy, isn't it??? Love you, Grandma B.
It is good therapy and it makes me proud, like I've accomplished something. And, when I fail the first time, especially with something like baking, it just whets my appetite to try it again and succeed!
Still looks good to me!
