photohunt:: protect(ion)

At the beach, there are lifeguard huts near the shore. On the outside of the buildings this sign is posted: The flags that coincide with the Beach Flag Guide fly next to the sign. The day this picture was taken it was a Medium Hazard (yellow flag) and Dangerous Marine Life (purple flag) day:
The flags are flown for our protection. We are glad they are there so we don't go into water that could potentially be hazardous.

Yikes! I mean, what KIND of hazardous marine life and how do we really know if it is ever safe if it is sometimes NOT safe!? Ya, know?? Am I losing my sense of adventure, or what?!
Nice "Photo Hunt" pics!

I think like washed up jellyfish etc. Not sharks or anything. When we were walking on the beach a few weekends ago we had to really watch our step cause they were all over the shore. It must be jellyfish season.

Great pick for the theme... I guess, that would be a great thing for protection! It's been years since I've gone to the beach. That's what I like about blogs it gives you a view of what others are seeing! ;o)

So alike and yet so different from our Aussie lifesaving huts!

Those flags sure are important! Of course, the beaches I grew up on didn't have anything like that.

Thanks for visiting my photo hunt.

Very nice, TAB. I considered posting a lifeguard station in my "protect(ion)" post, too.

Thanks for stopping by Pollywog Creek.
