oh nay nay

Something didn't go her way.
Her bike wasn't cooperating
with her.
When she falls off her bike
she gets so mad.
She says,
"Stupid bike!" and yells.
Sometimes the word "Idiot" comes
out.  (woops!)
Probably learned that somewhere,
from someone.
I don't know who that would be.
I felt like maybe her fit was worth
a few photos.
She wasn't hurt, people,
she was mad.
And tired.
Really tired.
She was at the end of her day.
I was horrible.
I got right up there
in her crying face
on super macro mode.
"Hold still, Nay."

"Did you get hurt?"

"Hold still."
*Click*
"Cry quietly.  Don't scream."

Yeah, I'm kinda
not a good parent when
my kids cry.
I feel like they should
suck it up and please, for heaven's sake,
don't cry so LOUDLY
if you're gonna cry!

James took over after I decided
to give Naomi some space.
He took her into his lap
and told her she needed
to just pick up her
bike when it tips over.
If you need help, Nay Nay, then
you need to ask like a big girl.
Such a good dad.
Such a photo obsessed mom.
Sorry Naomi.
It's ok, she got over it
after 2 minutes!
Promise!

LOL!!! You and I are a lot alike when it comes to our kids crying over "silly" things ;-) Poor Naomi! Sometimes I wish I could remember what it's like to be 3 again and how frustrating and disappointing some things probably are for them at that age you know? Way to go James!

Poor Nay Nay is right! If I know James at all, he looks a bit "put out"... (poor James!)
I'm sure Naomi was frus-tra-tra-ted
(as you used to say when you were a tyke) and I know just how she feels! If I could (but they say I'm a grown up, so I "can't" ;)), I'd burst into tears about similar frustrations!
And I do believe that Nay Nay got over it quickly. Kids can go from "shrill cry to happy giggle" in two minutes it seems!

I have to confess that I am much like Naomi - I have a tendency to call everything "stupid" that doesn't go my way. Way to go Daddy James!
