sometimes...

Naomi has a, um, let's just say, difficult
time eating her veggies, and sometimes
even her main course at mealtimes.
James tells me it's genetic
because when he was young
like Naomi he was a very slow eater.
Maybe that's true of Naomi as well.
She's just a slow eater.
However, when I find that most
 mealtime's I'm reminding Naomi
to please stop talking or playing
with her fork and eat, her
expression turns from playful
to defiant.
Yeah, I'm thinking
it's more her not wanting
to eat her veggies
than being a slow eater!
You know why else I think that she's more of a
non-veggie eater?
Because when I place a piece of chocolate cake
in front of her,
only after her food has been consumed,
she gives me a look of pure joy
and the cake is gone within 5 minutes!
Of course, it's also probably pretty genetic for the
cake lovin since
I am known to make that my
supper after the kids have gone to bed, a LOT!

Zane is the slowest eater in the world. He's not picky about very many foods (onions, chinese food and more obscure veggies are about the only things he really doesn't like) but he just takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r to eat. Luke and I usually have been done eating for a good 10-15 minutes before Zane finishes. I don't know that he even knows what warm food tasts like. :)

Oh NaOmi!

"Eat it while it's hot.
You don't have a lot!"

Yep. She's like her Mama (and Grandad) with that cake and ice cream lovin!

That is pretty much Eleanor these days! Sean actually does not give me as hard a time about food, but that girl sure does and she sure has a sweet tooth too.
