as good as it gets

Living in South Florida makes it hard for this Mid-Western girl to get into the Holiday spirit.
Growing up in Kansas, I feel as though the Christmas season should be cold,
icy, snowy and, of course, windy.
It doesn't sound very pleasant, I know, but that's what I grew up knowing.
Also, if you listen to those Christmas carols they throw at you at the beginning of November,
you will find that 99.9% of the lyrics speak of such weather.
The only non-freezing carol I've ever heard is Mele Kalikimaka, which, by the way,
happens to be one of my favorite Christmas songs!
But, that's the Hawaiian way to say, "Merry Christmas".
Anyway, I digress. I only mean to say, it sure as heck
does NOT feel like Christmas where the orange and palm trees sway.
I only wish it were beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
here where the snow will never begin to blow.

So, let me just say, it is the weirdest thing to put up my tiny amount
of Christmas decor when we are experiencing normal Floridian humidity
and 85 degree weather but we did!
Here's our meager offering of visual Christmas spirit.

This happens to be one of my favorite decorations.
The date on it is my birth year.

You are a clever one :)

I am sure it is weird to have all those decorations up with the weather being bright and sunny and warm! But, it does look nice! I like that Santa in the car. Very cute.

Apparently I'm a cyber-nerd. My word verification is inerdly ;)

It looks great, Tab. I can imagine that it would be difficult to feel "Christmas-y" with your warm weather. May the Lord bless you with a season full of Himself, despite the palm trees. :-)

I really do like that china cabinet! Tab! I'm praying with Laurel- that the Lord would fill you with Himself, despite palm trees (or anything else)!i
Love ya, babe!

Being that I have NEVER experienced a FREEZING Christmas, the warmth does not faze me. . . And actually we've had several cold fronts coming through recently, which in the morning and night puts the temp in the 50s.... that's pretty darn freezing for us South Floridians! Anywho, your decorations are adorable and the kiddos really enjoy them! that's what counts right? I'm sure in another couple years you'll be used to our warm Christmases and it will be easier to get in the jolly swing of things :)
