PhotoHunt: Furry

My husband has furry arms and a furry chest. I like to tease him about losing hair on top and gaining on his chest and arms, but all in love. I love my man very much.

Here's What The Cupboard Looks Like Now (Look at Post Below)

I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture of our cupboard BEFORE the organization!

My Sweet Husband

Found time to wash, dry and organize my pots, pans and tupperware cabinet yesterday. It had been bothering me for a while and I think it had been itching at James to clean it up.

He even bleached the items first and then washed them with soap. Everything is squeaky clean!

He had to organize and re-arrange on our table before completing the task of putting them all in their appointed new spots.

What a wonderful helper he is.

"I Have a Poputer Like Mommy!"

Marcail told me this last night. It took me a minute to figure out what she was saying. Then, she took out her pop-up book and started pretending to type on it. "See! I have a poputer like mommy!" What fun imaginations! Henry thought it was a pretty good idea too.

Snacking and "Vacuuming"!

Our happy kids were content with granola bars and Henry was especially pleased to "help" mama with the cleaning of the floor!
P.S. You can click on any image to see it larger.

Marcail Has a Black Eye

It's kinda hard to see it in these pictures, but her left eye is a little darker underneath than her right eye. It happened over the weekend. She was playing with her brother and sister and she and Naomi bumped heads. It didn't really show up until Sunday and I took a picture of it last night. She hasn't complained about it so I don't think it was too bad. It makes her look tired. Marcail has had a rough couple days. She woke up early on Tuesday morning and had a 102 degree temperature. She hasn't had any other symptoms and I have up-ed her dosage of Berry Well to 3-4 times a day rather than the normal 1 time. I also have been putting Oregano Oil on the bottoms of her feet at night before bed. Tonight, before bed, I checked her temp and it was down to a normal 98.7 degrees so hopefully it won't evolve into something more than a 24 hour fever.

This evening we played outside and she was having a good time pretending restaurant and running all over the place so the fever didn't slow her down any. She took a spill onto the hard cement and scraped her knee. It bled and she cried very loudly! I know it hurts but I believe she can be a little over dramatic sometimes!

PhotoHunt Theme: Chipped

Not the most exciting picture, I know, but I couldn't think of anything else. Me creative juices just were'nt flowing this week.

This is our car, it's not fancy, but it is paid for which, in my book, makes all the difference in the world when you're trying to get debt-free! The paint is chipped in a few places and there are a couple dents too and I just love my car!

Happy Hunting!

I Know the Holidays Are Over, However,

I think this is so fun to listen to! The flutist, Greg Pattillo, beatboxes on his flute. It's so different and I know that it takes a lot of talent and practice to have perfected it. I played flute in High School and it is not an easy instrument to play. It takes lots of breath control and postioning it just right to make the right sound come out. I think these guys, the group called Project are incredibly talented!

Enjoy!

Marcail's Socks

Almost daily Marcail wants to wear her shoes indoors when she is pretending to stroll her baby doll or go somewhere. That, of course, is fine with me if she can do it without my assistance but the rule I have set is that she must wear socks if she's going to wear shoes. She always remembers this and doesn't have the fashion sense yet to notice what kind of socks she pulls out of the drawer or if they even match her outfit or shoes. Here is what she picked out today:
Bright red socks that she didn't put under her pants. Her p.j.s are primarily pink with dark pink trim so they don't really match and I just thought it was amusing that she didn't take the time to pull her pants over the tops of her socks.
Boy was she proud of herself to have put on her long socks all by herself, though! They are always quite a task for her to do by herself without my assistance.

Our Car and Apartment Building

Although this may not be the most interesting post I decided to take pictures of our car and our building today just for the heck of it. I then thought that maybe my faithful readers would enjoy a glimpse into my everyday views.
Our bought and paid for 1997 Hunter Green Toyota Camry.
Note the doorway you can see above the car, it to the right of the hallway you can see as well. That's the office of our building, where we hang out with Rahul and Ruwena (more on that in a few paragraphs).

This is the door to our home: #427. The door on the right-hand side without numbers over it is also one of our doors but we never use it. If you were to open it you would walk right into our kitchen. The other door opens up into our enryway and then our living/dining room.

We live on the left side of the building, the laundry room is right below us and, kind of worthless info, but when people are doing their laundry we can smell the clean smell of laundry drying from the dryer vents waft up to our house. I like it.

A somewhat full view of our building. The door to the office is located in front of the 4th car from the left, you can see it better in the second picture of our car. All that open space in front of the cars is what I call the courtyard. That is where we play with the kid's little friend Rahul (pronounced Raw-hole) and I chat with his mom, Ruwena (pronounced Rooveena). We usually sit in the doorway of the office and watch them play. Don't worry, they know better than to go into the parking lot. There is white tile on the "courtyard" floor and the rule is that they must stay on the white tile to play. They do very well following the rules.
That, my friends, is our humble abode!

This Is What I Had to Look Forward To At Home

While we were playing at the beach, flying kites.....

I had toys that needed picked up (with the help of 3 capable offspring),

Diapers needing changing, kids needing to be put to bed (with the help of an eager daddy/husband),

Towels to be hung up from bathtime (some were soaked from *ahem* needless splashing!),

Wow! Fortunately not too much mess in the kid's room! (Those are foam swords that H, M and N are only allowed to use to slay imaginary dragons, lions, etc...with.)

Supper fixings to be put away and counters to be wiped,

Dishes to be washed and clean ones to be put where they belong,

A table to be wiped and water bottles to be put in the fridge,

And 6 loads of laundry to be hung up or put in drawers!
All in a day's work! I'm not complaining, just amazed at how quickly my work can accumulate. I don't mind doing all of that house work but sometimes it can be a little daunting. Hey, at least the kids were happy and we really had a great time today playing and running around on the beach. The house was cluttered with the kid's toys and that's always a good sign. That means they played hard and used their imaginations like I love for them to do! Motherhood, what a great thing!

I REALLY Like My New Hair Style But.....

Sometimes when I look in the mirror it reminds me of Inigo Montoya, the Spanish character from the movie, The Princess Bride.

At least Marcail's look-alike can be likened to the Nick Jr. character, Dora the Explorer!

Hola! Soy Dora!
(Hello! I am Dora!)

Reminiscing

I have started trying to organize my pictures. I talked to my mom about it a couple days ago and she sent me these precious photos from her collection, thought I would share with you. I really can't believe how quickly the time has passed. Henry is 17 months here. Look at the dirt around his mouth. No wonder he is such a happy little boy in this picture.

Naomi is probably 5 or 6 months here, what a sweet chub she was.

And Marcail, what a silly, chubby curly-headed baby girl she was! She's about 16 or 17 months here! If you look closely you can see a little drool on her chin, priceless!

Marcail and Mama Got Haircuts!

This morning I decided it was time to do what I've been wanting to do for a long time: get Marcail's hair cut and get some bangs for me. It was a huge step for me because I haven't had bangs in years and had kind of been secretly wanting to get some for a few months now. I loved Marcail's long hair but was getting tired of constantly putting it up in a ponytail to keep her hair out of her face and eyes. Here are the results!

Before:

After:

What do you think?? I really like my new 'do and I think Marcail looks adorable with the bangs too! She looks so much older now-I didn't expect that! We told her that she has a Dora haircut.

Playing and Loving

Henry and Marc were pretending to row boats tonight with drumsticks and mixing spoons sitting on their toy boxes. What a great use of imaginations!!!

Henry and Marc love each other and it's so sweet when they hug and tell each other that they do! This was taken shortly after naps this afternoon.
