i'm so random

Marcail is practicing her handwriting.

I noticed in the beginning of this school year that each of the kid's handwriting

was very sloppy.

So, we've been really focusing on improving their penmanship this semester.

One lazy Saturday morning, without kids, pouring rain out.

licking the bowl clean.

God gave me these four children as a blessing.

I don't deserve them.  They are great kids.  Really.

I pray that I would enjoy them and savor these young years.

It's already gone so quickly.

It's sped by!  Just a second ago I was holding my twin in the crook of my arms

in the hospital.  

Now, they're 6 years old, in first grade.

Being a mom certainly isn't glamorous.

Baby blow outs will put you down a notch or two.

A sink bath after such blow outs and a splashy baby

always makes the poop mess so much better.

Have I mentioned that Marc has entered the squirrely, giggly stage of kidhood?

Yep!  That silly, uncontrollable laughing about who knows what is here!

It's pretty amusing at times.

She is such a great help with Toby.

When I just can't hold him or tend to him right away,

she will keep him occupied until I can.

She loves it, can you tell?

School time makes for a hungry mama.

a bowl of oatmeal for me!

On our walk the other day, we saw this little fella on the shore 

of the intercoastal.

These guys are everywhere right now.

I think it's mating season or something.

Toby's feet are so adorable to me!

They are always moving.  Always.

I spy with my little eye not one, but two bald heads.

Our landlord's sister got a new puppy.

Her name is McGee.

She's stinkin adorable!

Henry just really, super loves his baby brother.

and talk and play with him for such a long time.

Perhaps a picture overload for one post but sometimes I do not know when to stop!

Henry and Marc are cracking up and giggly little 1st graders.

They take after their mama.  I still crack up pretty easily.

I've always been a fruitcake.

Sometimes our school lessons make Toby fall asleep.

More school days.

around here

Here's some more randomness for you all.

Last month, for a "back-to-school" kick-off, we met with our 

little homeschool group from our church at the beach.

We had a scavenger hunt and read some stories about the ocean.

There was splashing in the ocean and lots of laughter.

Henry found this little crab!

It was a good day!

We met with my friend Susan and her three boys at a water park the day before school started.

It was nice to spend time with Susan, but it got cut short

after someone pooped in the water (gross mehoff)

and then it started pouring rain.

This pic was taken about 10 minutes before both events took place.

I took Henry out on a date last month.

He chose to eat at Panda Express

and browse through the children's section at Barnes and Noble.

It was good to have that one-on-one time with my boy.

I want to do this with each of the girls too.

Some Saturdays, James takes the big kids out

on his little motor boat.

They cruise around the intercoastal and even visit the beach.

The kids love it!

I do too, becasue I get a little break from the kiddos

and special time alone with the little dude.

One such Saturday, we went to Whole Foods and got stuck 

waiting outside the store for a torrential downpour

to let up enough for me to run to the car.

Once I was finally able to run us to the car, the parking lot was so flooded

that my ankles were covered in water

and the back of my shorts got splattered from running.

Quite the adventure! 

JcPenney's offered free kid's cuts through the month of August

so we took advantage of that!

Henry had never had his hair cut at a salon before.

He was pretty excited!

So were the girls, but they'd had this experience before.

I'm cracking up, because the guy in the mirror looks like he's checking

out my boot-ay

but really, he's looking down at his son who

was getting his hair cut behind me.

I'm glad I didn't have to pay for the kid's cuts.

When we got home I noticed

that all three had pieces of hair that were missed

and some of the girl's hair, in spots, were uneven.

At least it will grow!

After their cuts were finished,

we walked around the mall for a bit.

randomness on wednesday

It's been a while.  It seems life has gotten busy and this blog has been left behind.  A baby, homeschooling, housework and extra-curricular activities seem to be taking over our lives right now.

The batteries in my big camera are all dead, I need to get to the store to replace them.  But, for now, I'm using my camera on my phone to capture the daily moments in our lives.

These guys are too cute together.
